The Nashville News

The Nashville News is a weekly newspaper devoted to covering Washington County and nearby areas. It was founded by Ed Schmitt in 1934. Mr. Schmitt learned the newspaper trade while working 20 years at the old Nashville Journal, which is now closed. The paper was sold to Richard and Connie Tomaszewski in 1979. Mr. Tomaszewski worked for the Nashville News before purchasing it. They owned and operated the newspaper until it was sold in October 2007 to Family Media, Inc.
